Welcome to my blog and thanks for stopping by. I am privileged to be
both a teacher and a learner. Here I jot down my thoughts and reflection
on this journey I am embarking not alone, but together with my fellow
young learners in school.
I am currently a Personal Learning Assistant for a boy with Autism at Garden International School. My role as a PLA consist of supporting and motivating him during classroom lesson and also during playtime. I work closely with the homeroom teacher and with a learning support teacher and as a team, we discuss strategies to help children with learning difficulties in school to adapt to the school system. I have been working in Garden International School for 2 years now, a year at year 3 and another at year 4.
Prior to Garden International School, I was an Applied Behavioral Therapist (ABA) at Early Autism Project. I joined as a fresh Psychology graduate from University of Sheffield and there my passion for children with special needs grew. More specifically, my passion is to help these children academically. This is the reason I am furthering my studies in Teaching & Learning to firstly understand the basics of learning and teaching. I hope that at the end of this course, I am able to combine ABA techniques to teach and help learners with difficulties learn through their strength.
